The Watershed

The Lake Fayetteville Watershed is approximately 9.2 square miles of land and water, located in east Fayetteville and Springdale, Arkansas.

The lake and it's watershed is vulnerable to a variety of non-point source pollutants such as runoff from urban and agricultural land use.

Lake Fayetteville is listed as the back-up water supply in case Beaver Lake becomes unusable. However, Lake Fayetteville, with it's current level of water quality, could not support drinking water as a designated use.

This watershed is a sub-watershed of the Illinois River Watershed, meaning everything here flows downstream and into the Illinois River.
